As you know, Coorg is a favourite tourist destination for every Indian travellers. In Kodagu, Mandalpatti is a  must visit tourist place in Kodagu. And its a magical beauty and an absolutely scenic place in Coorg. Mandalpatti hills are located around 25 km from Madikeri town en route to Abbi falls. A right deviating road just 4 kms before Abbi Falls will lead to Mandalpatti. As bus facility is not available yet taking a cab or own vehicle is advised.

The road is good till the deviation. After that its a little bad in patches. But you will forget that when you see the beauty of the place. There is a forest office where you need to buy a ticket to go up till the view point.. The view is breathtaking from there...

Make sure to take water and food along as there are no shops around there. Once on the top of the hills the beauty of Mandalpatti is unwrapped. Far stretching green mountains and the cool breeze will definitely make one feel like heaven.

Another New Weekly Express Train announced in 2012-2013 Budget!!! 

The Bangalore Mangalore Train Travel is really feels like heaven on earth!!! The Train passes through some of the most picturesque hills of the western ghats. The western ghats have some the most beautiful tourist places inside of its deep thick forests and it is a beautiful tourist place near Bangalore. The train pulls up through these ghats chug-chugging along the bridges (more than 100 bridges!!!) and tunnels (more than 50 tunnes!!!). The whole stretch of the railway line passes through a number of such bridges and tunnels. Walking on these bridges is supposed to be the most thrilling part of this trek. You are high up in the hills, walking on the bridge, with ground at more than a 100 ft below your feet. You have nothing to hold on to, and one wrong step could leave you hurling down to the valley below. You have to be really careful and alert. And the tunnels are another story. If the train comes through when you are walking inside a tunnel, all you can do is wedge yourself in the small 4 ft space in between the speeding train and the tunnel wall, as the train brushes past your face. It is a shaky experience.

The Railway track between Donigal near Sakleshpur and Subramanya Road, near Kukke Subrahmanya, popularly known  as ‘The Green Route’ because of its nature’s beauty. This stretch of the track with length about 52kms. It is a trekker paradise and best tourist place. The best season to trek is October to march.

Sakleshpur is around 220kms from Bangalore and Donigal is 7kms further up in NH48. The railway track connects Hassan to Mangalore and passes through the western ghats past Sakleshpur. It runs around NH48 near Donigal, but gradually moves to the south of highway. The track passes through the stations Yedakumeri and Shiribagilu and then crosses the Subramanya road, which connects Subramanya with the NH48 at Gundya.

It is a favorite travel destination for summer for its all time cool weather. Touristors are known about only the above shown falls in Kodagu. But more waterfalls are hidden in the deep forest of Kodagu. We are exploring some of the them here.

Kabbe Waterfalls

One of the villagers gave us the direction to the falls. To reach the Balliyatra(Kabbe) falls, one has to trek for over an hour in slippery path. Since the trip was not meant for trek, people were not ready for it. There is place one could see the falls from a distance. We went to that point and enjoyed the beauty of the falls. The falls looked very similar to Bandaje Arbi falls.

Chelavara Waterfalls

Chelavara is known for its huge waterfall. It viewed from the road itself. There is also a way to get down and to the top of the falls. The water level of falls was quite high and we could not really get too close to the falls. My attempts to take a photo of falls in full view went in vain. One wrong step would end ones life. Certainly, there was no necessity to take that risk. 





Devarakolli Waterfalls

Fifteen km from Madikeri on Madikeri – Mangalore road is Devarakolli falls. This falls is on the road side and can be found easily.






























Garwale Waterfalls

Garwale is a Village about about 15 km from Madapur, and 35 km from Madikeri. You Can see a Very beautiful Waterfalls on the way of Garwale from Madapur.






















Kalyala Waterfalls

'Kalyala Waterfalls' is located off the Madkeri - Mangalore Highway. It is visible from the highway and looks beautiful. Since the driving directions to the falls were known to us from our first visit, we quickly reached the last motorable stretch from where we had to trek down to view the falls. The drive itself is a mesmerizing one, with the greenery around and the narrow and curvy roads. It feels through the drive at every stretch, as though there's something more beautiful in store for us to see! It was a complete feast to our eyes.





Kuppehole Waterfalls

The Kuppehole Falls near Haleri, off the Madikeri-Sunticoppa-Kushalnagar road is in full flow. The roar of the water piercing the eerie silence of the surroundings is bewitching. Muddy water coming down in huge sheets along the woods is a great sight. It joins the Hattihole near Madapur, ultimately flowing into the Harangi resrvoir.































Karike – Treasure of Water Falls In raining season, about 25 water falls welcomes you near karike village near to Bhagamandala, which is Kodagu-Kerala border area. No residents are found nearby as this area is covered with thick forest. The different falls seems to compete in attracting the viewers.

The Manchanabele Dam is further down another 9 kms from another tourist place Big Banyan Tree. The dam is built in the catchment area where the rivers Arkavathy and Kumudvathy meet for irrigation and drinking water in the village of Manchanabele. Awesome Journey in Train to reach Ooty

The Queen of Hills is connected to the Chennai City (Capital of Tamilnadu state) by a train at night hours. The train called as Nilgiris Express or Blue Mountain Express which leaves from Chennai at night, and reaches Mettupalayam a small town at the foothills of the Nilgiris early the next morning around 6.30am. The train The Nilgiri Mountain Railway (Toy Train) leaves Mettupalayam at7.10am. The train is very smaller one and can only accommodate few passengers. A through ticket from Chennai to Ooty will ensure a place in the smaller train, although many prefer the faster route of taking a cab or a bus from Mettupalayam.
The steam train takes a very scenic route, and the pace of travel will let you take in the beautiful scenery at leisure with stops at stations for the engine to take on water (the journey takes about 5.1/2 hours compared to 2 hours by road). The train often travels only at 5 - 10 Kmph, allowing some adventurous passengers to disembark from the train and walk along the train.

Mettupalayam can prove to be a bottle-neck during the peak season of April-June with cabs charging exorbitant rates. The train is often quite regular in this part of the country, and is by far the most comfortable way to get here. There are other trains from Chennai to Coimbatore also.

Repulse Bay

Repulse Bay is an another tourist attarction in the southern part of Hong Kong Island, located in the Southern District, Hong Kong. Among all the Hong Kong beaches, Repulse Bay is most famous.

The Repulse Bay” is a residential apartment nowadays, and it was built on a former hotel site. “The Repulse Bay Centre” in front of it is a very elegant, beautiful European building built during the colonial era. Expected to be completed this year, 129 Repulse Bay looks like an opening white lily. According to some news articles, 129 Repulse Bay was originally built as residential apartment.

Mongkok Shopping Area

Mong Kok is a tourist attraction area in the Yau Tsim Mong District of Kowloon Peninsula, Hong Kong, China. Mong Kok in Chinese means a flourishing and busy corner.

Mong Kok is divided by Nathan Road into two areas-the residential area and shopping area. Shopping malls are in east of Nathan Road; and dwellers, shops, stores, restaurants are mainly found west of Nathan Road. Ladies Street also named Tung Choi Street is an open air bazaar. Mongkok Street is famous for birds selling. There is a large market for selling bird of all sorts.

Ocean Park

Hong Kong Ocean Park is a marine mammal park, oceanarium, and animal theme park, which is situated in Wong Chuk Hang and Nam Long Shan in the Southern District of Hong Kong.

How to get there: Take a public bus to Ocean Park. And get off the bus after going through the Aberdeen Tunnel. A short walk takes you to Ocean Park. Public buses include No. 72, 72A, 92, 96, 592, 6A, 6X, 29R, 70, 75, 90, 97, 260, 41A, 77, 99, 171, 671, 107, 973 and 170.

Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront

Tsim Sha Tsui is the southern tip of the Kowloon peninsula, and a major shopping and tourist place. Avenue of Stars is modeled after Hollywood”s Walk of Fame, and boasts a Bruce Lee Statue and imprints of other Chinese movie stars. It points towards Victoria Harbour.

The Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront is as well the best touristplace to watch the night view of the harbor. Every night, the tall buildings along Hong Kong harbor will set up light bulbs on their walls and form into a wonderful sight-seeing.

Victoria Harbour

Victoria Harbour, one of the most popular travel tourist attractions in Hong Kong, is a natural landform harbour situated between Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula.

Victoria Harbour covers an area of about 41.88 square kilometers. Victoria Harbour is world-famous for its magnificent panoramic sight. How to get there: There are three cross-harbour tunnels: Cross Harbour Tunnel, Eastern Harbour Crossing, and Western Harbour Crossing. They connect Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula across Victoria Harbour.

Tian Tan Buddha

Tiantan Buddha, also known as the Big Buddha, is a large bronze statue of a Buddha, completed in 1993, and located at Ngong Ping, Lantau Island, in Hong Kong. It is a major centre of Buddhism in Hong Kong, and is also a popular tourist attraction.

The Buddha is 34 metres tall, weighs 250 metric tons, and was the world’s tallest outdoor bronze seated Buddha prior to 2007. It reputedly can even be seen from as far away as Macau on a clear day. Visitors have to climb 268 steps in order to reach the Buddha, though the site also features a small winding road to the Buddha for vehicles to accommodate the handicapped.

Stanley Market

Stanley is a town and a tourist attraction in Hong Kong which is located on a peninsula on the southeastern part of Hong Kong Island. It is east of Repulse Bay and west of Shek O, adjacent to Chung Hom Kok.

Stanley has been a fishing village since before the British came to Hong Kong. Stanley Market is one of the must-go places for tourists when they visit Hong Kong. You will find an interesting array of little shops selling silk garments, sportswear, art, Chinese costume jewelry and souvenirs.
