~ December Holidays @ SAF Changi Seaview Resort ~

We are glad to be back again at the SAF Changi Seaview Resort! This is our favourite chalet spot and the children were excited as they had enjoyed their stay there 2 years ago. http://bpdgtravels.blogspot.sg/2010/12/moments-saf-changi-chalet-day-1.html

The iconic purple Moo Moo Cow welcomed us at the entrance

Each unit is entitled to only 1 carpark lot. Hence we have to look for other locations to park our car. Visitors can also get to the SAF Changi Seaview Resort via Bus 29.

Two years ago, we stayed in the Gemini unit. This time we are pleased to be in the Taurus unit. The wall colours is set in Green theme, one of our favourite colour. :)

The furnishing remains neat and clean. There are 2 bedrooms which are sufficient to accommodate 2 families comfortably.

The balcony and BBQ facing the sea. It is cooling and relaxing to sit here and chit-chat with our friends. I enjoy waking up in the morning hearing the waves of the sea and the boats horning.
Its a also a favourite spot to rest here and enjoy the breeze.

Gladys LOVE the beach and she nevers misses it whenever there is opportunity for her to pick seashells and play with the sand.

It has been raining almost everyday but we were lucky to have clear blue sky during our barbecue sessions.

It is this time where children can get together and have some FUN too!

The key highlights in any chalet is probably preparing and cooking the food. Seeing this always open my appetite. ^_^

It is a short stay but a great time-out for us and the kiddos. We definitely look forward to be back here again soon.

Note: SAF Changi Seaview Resort is not open to public for booking. It is exclusively for SAF personnels. Bookings are allocated by balloting.

~ Moments @ SAF Changi Chalet - Day 4 & 5 ~

6th Dec (Mon) - Today is a more relaxing day for all of us especially after 2 nights of BBQ-ing and cleaning up. We decided to go and watch the movie - Rapunzel at Downtown East with the cheaper weekday ticketing price. The story protrayed in the movie is very much different from the original hence making the entire show more refreshing and funny.

The children didn't miss out hanging out at the arcade games while they are here.

It started to rain in the afternoon and we were back at the chalet. While the children were still actively playing their games, Hubby and I preferred to rest. We packed our bags as we planned to go back home after dinner tonight. However, seeing Denver and Gladys feeling so disappointed on returning, Hubby and I changed our initial plans and decided to stay for another night. We drove back home to pack our working clothings and things as we need to leave early in the morning tomorrow.

The children were extremely delighted when they learned that they get to stay for another night (even if it is only for a couple of hours more). At least our efforts are not wasted for going through all the hassle. :)

We had dinner with Bbil's family at Changi Village and had stingray, squid, char kway teow, fried rice etc. That pretty much ended our 5 days 4 nights stay at the SAF Changi Chalet and in my opinion, it has been one of our best experience we had so far. Hopefully if we were lucky enough, we will be back again.

~ Moments @ SAF Changi Chalet - Day 3 ~

5th Dec (Sun) - Hubby has been 'recalled' back to work today so he missed out all the fun the kids had at the beach. Awwww.... :(

Finally...we were blessed with a sunny morning after all the heavy downpour and drizzling which we have experienced for the past 2 days. Instead of letting the children continue staying indoors and play with their games, it's time for some outdoor activities.

Bbil brought along his fishing rod and we took the children out for some 'fishing'. Well..not exactly. :) Basically it is just to let each of them have a feel and try on how to fish. We didn't catch any fishes of course.

Since we didn't have any luck with fishing, the children decided to play with the waters instead. Initially it was just walking by the shore and sinking their feet. Soon enough, Royston, Denver and Gladys started to get themselves all wet.

Jasper was so lucky to spot a crab (which just died) and the children started to get all excited grabbing it. Apart from dead crab, we saw dead fish as well.

Gladys is having a good time, enjoying herself as the waves splashes on her. She didn't even really mind the murky sea water getting into her mouth. Since she couldn't swim, I have been keeping an eye on her just to make sure she stays safe.

How are the boys doing? Royston is the first to sink himself into the waters. Denver follows suit while Jasper needed some encouragement from his daddy before joining in the party. Denver and Royston had a lot of fun especially when the waves came and hit on them. Kudos to them for their bravery as this is definitely different from swimming in the pool where the waters are clean. The boys didn't really get use to the salty waters but it is a rare and unforgettable experience for them.

After lunch, Gladys was so tired that she dozed off in the living hall. The hot afternoon sun really makes us sleepy. However, that doesn't stop her from going to the beach again. We were back to make sandcastles again in the evening.

It was low-tide and Gladys was able to pick up a stick and make sketches on the sand. She drew a very cute girl and Mommy helps to fill up the space with the different sea creatures. :)

Daddy was finally back from work after 5pm and he joined us at the beach. Apart from seashells, we saw a starfish and some dead jellyfish. Ewwww...

It has been a full day event at the beach and I'm so hot and busted. Second day of BBQ session also started after 4pm and we had another round of eating and drinking which lasted throughout the night.

~ Moments @ SAF Changi Chalet - Day 2 ~

4th Dec (Sat) - We had a good night sleep. The kids are really enjoying themselves as if they were staying in a hotel. It was a cloudy Saturday morning and looks like it is going to rain. (not again!)

View from our room

Hubby and I took all the children out for a coastal walk by the beach. It was a cooling morning and we walked all the way from our chalet unit to Changi Village for our breakfast.

It rained for awhile in the morning but we managed to bring the kids to the beach to play with the sand as soon as the sun is out. Gladys is the happiest among all since she has been bugging us to go to the beach since yesterday.
Making sandcastles.

Hubby made some sandcastles for each of us (except Mommy who is taking the video) to step on before we leave the beach. :)

We spent the rest of the afternoon indoors playing games and resting. Since we were expecting guests, Hubby started the fire for BBQ since 3pm. Again, Gladys is keeping herself busy running around and 'helping' out at the BBQ pit. ^_^

We always prepare a lot of food and drinks whenever we have BBQ session. There is no exception for this time as well. Fresh crabs, chicken wings, satays, prawns, squid, sausages etc and you can imagine all of us had our stomachs filled.

We BBQ and ate till 9plus in the night (not forgetting cleaning up till 11plus). It was surely tiring but everyone (especially the children) had a good time.

~ Moments @ SAF Changi Chalet - Day 1 ~

Bbil's and our family were staying at the SAF chalet (seaview resort) in Changi over the weekend. The children are so excited and extremely awed when we arrived. The surroundings are so beautiful and the renovated rooms and facilities within the chalet is neat and tidy. Royston wished that he can stay here forever while Gladys calls it her home. :)

Each chalet unit has been named and numbered according to the 12 horoscope (by month) with different colour theme. We were staying at the Gemini unit which is purple colour scheme. The Cancer unit is Red and there are also Orange, Green, Yellow, Blue theme for the other horoscopes.

There is only 1 carpark lot for each unit and hence hubby has to park his car elsewhere and walk back to the chalet. We also spotted a small function room - Changi Haven with 2 BBQ pits and some seatings outside. This is probably for small events or functions for those who are not staying in the chalet.

Denver & Gladys posing with the Moo Moo and Christmas tree.

The entire furnishing within the chalet is simple, trendy and comfty. Since our unit is the purple theme, parts of the walls and ceiling are painted purple. Even the bathroom mats, bedsheets are also purple in colour. :)

Basically we have all we need within the unit for our weekend stay. Mahjong table, chairs, kitchen utensils, pots, cooker, microwave oven etc. There is even a BBQ equipment if it rains.

We check-in at around 3pm and moved all our stuff in. The children had fun day and night eating, drinking, playing and running while I pretty much enjoyed the seaview and it's cooling breeze. It started to rain very heavily in the late afternoon and we hence we didn't get have any outdoor activities on our first day.

Dinner was at Nihon Kumura at Downtown East and we drove back to the chalet shortly. It was a cooling night and the rain has stopped. The kids were only keen to stay-in and play games or watch TV programs. Hence, hubby and I had some time walking by the coastal path along the beach. I am enjoying the time away from work and loving the peace and quiet moments for now. Full day events on Day 2 & 3. ^_^
