Pulpit Rock in Norway is a 604 meter (1982 ft) cliff that overlooks Lysefjord fjord. It is a popular landmark that draws hikers from all over to take in its sweeping views. Today, you can visit the rock through this beautiful timelapse video, which is likely to inspire you to want to go and see it for yourself. It seems like a fitting way to end the week.

What could be better than a timelapse of an incredibly starry night? How about a timelapse of an incredible starry night over one of my favorite places. In this case, Kilimanjaro – the tallest mountain in Africa. The mountain makes a dramatic backdrop as the celestial light show plays out over head. Quite beautiful. I hope you enjoy.

This past summer, three friends quit their job and hit the road with one another on a two-month long adventure across the U.S. during which they visited some amazing outdoor places, taught photography workshops and caught up with friends old and new. Along the way they also managed to take some amazing photos and stitched together a fantastic timelapse video of their journey. You'll find that breathtaking piece of work below. Perhaps it'll inspire you to heed the call of adventure too.

Filmed entirely on the island of Le Palma, the western most point in the Canary Islands, this timelapse video captures some amazing footage of that beautiful place. I particularly enjoy seeing the movement of the clouds as they wrap around a mountaintop observatory, which in turn opens up as time passes. I'm not sure why these timelapses are so compelling, but they certainly do a great job of capturing my imagination.

New Zealand has a reputation for being a beautiful country with plenty to offer the outdoor enthusiast. The video below certainly bares that out with some stunning landscapes captured in timelapse. The footage was captured over a three month period during which filmmaker Shawn Reeder took more than 100,000 photos. The results pretty much speak for themselves.

Borrego Springs, California is home to a 600,000 acre state park that preserves a large chunk of the desert there. Inside that park you'll find some amazing statues that were created by a man named Dennis Avery. Those statues are of such creatures as dragons, dinosaurs, horses, wooly mammoths and more. In the video below, those mythical beasts making a dramatic appearance with an incredible timelapse skyline moving behind them. The result is a bit mind-bending but also quite beautiful.

Looking to commune with nature but don't have time to escape your desk today? Then you'll want to checkout the video below which captures some stunning images from the Catskills Mountains that will go a long way towards getting your fix. Filmmaker Savva Svet called this wonderful little film "Bodhi" in honor of the tree under which the Buddha found ultimate enlightenment. This video may not achieve the same effect but it is certainly a step in the right direction. Simply wonderful.

If you've ever had any doubt that Iceland is one of the most beautiful countries on the planet, they will be put to rest after watching this amazing video. It features some of the most breathtaking landscapes you'll ever see captured in timelapse. I had already wanted to go to Iceland before seeing this, now I want to go even more. Simply spectacular.

Here's an interesting video that none of us will have time to watch in its entirety, even though it is beautiful enough that you might want to. It features nearly 6.5 hours off footage of the night sky, shot in realtime, from the Mather Overlook in the Great Basin National Park in Nevada. If you watch it long enough, you'll be able to see the stars start to move over time as we follow their trail across the sky. This would be fantastic on a high definition TV for those nights you're "camping" in the basement or on the living room floor because your regular campsite got rained out.

If you're looking for a beautiful video to relax to tonight, play this one at fullscreen. Filmmakter Randy Halverson says that it is a "Dakotalapse" since it was shot in his home state of South Dakota. If you haven't been to that state before, some of the landscapes may surprise you. In this case, they all happen to be set against a stunning backdrop of night skies as well. If you're a fan of timelapse videos, you're not going to want to miss this one.

I've posted some spectacular timelapse videos on occasion here, but few can rival this one. It was shot on Haleakala, a gigantic dormant volcano in Hawaii and what make it so spectacular is the dramatic shifts in light as the thick clouds and fog give way to a beautiful sunrise. It really is a sight to behold and should make for a perfect ending to the week. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and a tip of the cap to filmmaker Dan Douglas for sharing with all of us.

Covering more than 2,529,875 square kilometres (976,790 sq mi), Western Australia is the largest state in Australia, covering nearly a third of the continent. With that much open space, you have to think that there are some pretty impressive outdoor playgrounds there and the video below pretty much confirms that. It is a timelapse film shot over five months and capturing some of the more memorable locations. Much like the rest of Australia, it looks wild, rugged and stunningly beautiful. Enjoy!

Northern Michigan is home to some of the most spectacular and remote landscapes in the entire U.S., although the region is often overlooked for the wonderful options it can provide to outdoor enthusiasts. I was there last winter and had an absolutely great time on the trails. It is definitely a wonderful destination for anyone looking to get away from it all.

The video below gives you a glimpse of what to expect there with some stunning timelapse photography of the landscapes and night skies that are sure to leave you looking on in wonder. Truly beautiful work here and the perfect way to wind down another day.

Have you always wanted to create your own amazing timelapse videos like the ones that I share here regularly? Well a company called Brinno is now making it easier then ever to do just that. Their new TLC200 Pro is built from the ground up for timelapse photography and it makes it incredibly easy for you to capture stunning scenes even after dark.

The camera features 1.3 megapixel sensor, which isn't exactly state-of-the-art these days but should be more than adequate to pump out quality videos from the hundreds of photos it will take. The TLC200 Pro also incorporates a 1/3" HDR sensor which helps to capture plenty of light, even after the sun has gone down. Shooting modes include settings for for shooting in daylight, twilight, darkness and by the light of the moon. The device is capable of capturing burst of 3-5 photos per second and the time interval can be set between 1 second up to 24 hours. That means no matter what you're shooting, you should be able to capture it nicely. This model even offers the ability to change out the lenses and Brinno offers a variety of them for use with this tech toy.

The unit runs on 4 AA batteries, which is good for 240,000 frames shot at a 2 second time interval. The entire camera weighs just 4.2 ounces and can fit nicely into a backpack for taking with you on a trip.

Best of all, the TLC200 Pro automatically stitches all of the images it takes together to create a timelapse video for you. There is no need to collect all of the images independently of one another only to try to assemble them in a separate piece of software. This camera is literally plug-and-play. Just point it at the scene you want to capture and let it go.

As I think about the next place I want to travel to, Morocco is on my short list of possible destinations. I'd like to trek in the Atlas Mountains there and visit the arid deserts as well. It is a country with a rich culture and history that I would love to experience for myself.
