~ Family Bay at Lower Seletar Reservoir ~

We heard about the water play area at the Lower Seletar Reservoir and have long wanted to visit it since late last year. Unfortunately, we made a wrong turn then and ended up at Lower Peirce Reservoir instead. http://bpdgtravels.blogspot.com/2010/12/lower-peirce-reservoir.html

This time, we got our directions right but we did not pack extra clothings for the children. Upon reaching the park, we noticed the limited car park lots. It was almost filled when we arrived and I wonder where would be the next nearest parking destination.

The Family Bay area at Lower Seletar Reservoir has a performance stage, water play area and a Heritage Bridge. Parents bring their children here to play and have fun in the waters while the adults relax and sit down to enjoy the scenary around the reservoir. (Remember to bring an extra set of clothings and towel!)

The waters is shallow (suitable for the younger children) and the surroundings is clean and very well-maintained.

Walking up the spiral staircase, you get a better view of the Family Bay area, Heritage Bridge as well as the reservoir.

Take a little walk on the bridge, you will notice the panels displaying the reservoir’s historical past.

Denver & Gladys never fails to find things to play and amuse us. Here they are pretending to meditate at the center of the circular stone.

As night drews, we find peace and tranquality by the bridge. At the same time, the lights liven up the water play area with its vibrant touch of changing rainbow colours.
