Travel To New Old Singapore

Tiong Bahru district is one of the first residential area established in Singapore. At the beginning stood in about the 1930's, the area known as Tiong Bahru dwelling women mistress of the wealthy man. But in the sequel, this area became a residential area for the middle class and above.

Just two years later, Tiong Bahru face adorned with a modern touch through a variety of cafes, restaurants and lifestyle stores that stood there. The stores are side by side with buildings and old houses with art deco architecture.

Its been a pioneer in the transformation of the new face of Tiong Bahru is the cafe 40 Hands. Opened in 2010, the café owned by an expatriate from Australia is mostly positive reviews from the local media - and make the Tiong Bahru so many people glance.

Singapore is one example of a smart city to leverage what already has to be processed into something refreshing.

After the success of the Duxton Hill and Ann Siang Hill (two parents in the Chinatown area restored to a cool and popular) Singapore is now re-use the same formula to the Tiong Bahru. Maintaining old buildings mixed with new flavors.

If you get bored with all the hubbub of the Orchard and commercial shops in the mall Singapore, you must visit to Tiong Bahru, at Yong Siak Street is. I personally really enjoy the relaxed and calm atmosphere in the region. And visually, I like being in the 1980's but with a modern trinkets.
