The new device is named the iON Adventure and the tough little camera has everything you'll need to shoot fantastic videos. One of the top features is built in GPS functionality which allows the Adventure to tag your videos with locational data as well as speed and altitude. It also has a unique duel-memory card system that allows users to continuously shoot footage for hours without stopping. A built-in vibration sensor can also be set to start and stop recording based on movement and a new design makes the camera more rugged an versatile than ever.
The Adventure has a sensor that is capable of shooting 1080p high definition video and comes in a lightweight body that weighs in at just 4.2 ounces. It will also interface with iON's Wi-Fi Pod, which will allow you to share your videos to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and other services. It also allows you to control the camera using your iPhone or Android device through apps that are available on the App Store and Google Play Store.
The iON Adventure will be available in March for $349.99, but that launch is just the start of the support for the new device. iON intends to build a full ecosystem around this new camera and will start by incorporating Kinomap, a system for sharing videos that incorporate geolocatonal information in their content.
