POSITION: Summer Program Dormitory Advisor
Keio Academy of New York is now hiring Dormitory Supervisors to work in our Summer Program, US-JAPAN SUMMER CULTURAL EXPERIENCE 2013. The positions are for both the girls’ and the boys’ dormitories. Room and board will be provided. Term of employment will be between Friday, July 19th, 2013 and Sunday, August 4th, 2013. This includes a training period, preparation, and post-program wrap-up.

POSITION: Undergraduate and Graduate Student Paid Internship:
Paid Internship, Keio Academy of New York seeks undergraduate and graduate student paid interns for “US-JAPAN Summer Cultural Experience 2013”. Maximum of ten undergraduate or graduate students Period of Internship: July 18(Thu.), 2013 – August 4(Sun), 2013 This period also includes unpaid mandatory training sessions to ensure safety and wellbeing of the staff and participants
Status of Internship: Residential (Interns will be provided on-campus student housing and meals.)
Pay scale: $ 7.25 per hour
Working Hour: 6 days a week (one day off per week), approximately 40hours per week
Must hold a legal status to work in the US (F-1 visa students will not be accepted) Must possess a social security number

Excellent command of English languageA good team player in a multi-cultural settingAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced program environment[For Non-native speakers of Japanese] At least two years of college-level Japanese language or cultural studies strongly preferred An undergraduate or a graduate student in education, international studies, intercultural communication, or related major preferredWilling to engage in the off duties recreational activities with participantsWilling to learn operational and administrative undertakings of a residential educational institutionExperience in working with youth and/or experience in living/studying/working in another country in a cross-cultural environment preferredPrior high school or college on or off campus residential life experience is a plusMedia arts or digital technology related experience helpful
All Positions will work under direct supervision of the program director, and at timeswith the administrative directorEnsure program participants’ health, safety, hygiene, discipline, group dynamics and social adjustment and look out for early signs of a serious problem or danger and refer them to program director or an appropriate staffAssist program staff with guiding the participants through a daily schedule of activitiesAssist administrative tasks as assigned If bilingual, be an interpreter for the participants, their parents, DCTV staff, and other staff members as needed.
