From Tokyo to Kyoto Shinkansen train ride and I immediately saw the difference in the two cities. Number of tall buildings in Kyoto is not as much in Tokyo. Society also look more casual - pedaling a bike to go to work or school.
What does it mean to Kyoto without visiting its temples. If had a full week would not be able to visit all the temples in the city. Moreover, only a few days, like me. Finally, I was forced to choose a course.
One of the temples located in the city center called Higashi Honganji. This temple is very near from Kyoto station, can be reached by walking for 5-10 minutes. The temple was built on the orders of shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1602 it still looks dashing. Indeed, all the temples in Japan are always well maintained, remodeling is always done without reducing the original characteristics.
