Internship and Advocacy Openings: Asian/Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Resource Project

The Asian/Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Resource Project (DVRP) is a local nonprofit, which works specifically with the A/PI communities in Virginia, Maryland, and DC. The organization provides survivors of domestic violence with access to linguistically and culturally responsive services. Their advocacy services cover over 20 different Asian languages.

Right now, DVRP is looking for fall interns and bilingual advocates to start in the fall. Internships are unpaid but travel stipends are provided. (Interns do not need to be bilingual!) Bilingual advocates are paid $15-25 per hour for their work with clients and must go through a 55 hour training.

FALL INTERNSHIPS

Note: These are unpaid internships.

Time Commitment: This internship lasts from late August/early September 2012 until December 2012, but dates can be somewhat flexible.  Interns will be working during DVRP’s business hours of 10am-6pm, Mondays-Fridays, with possibly some weekend hours as needed.
